About the role

Are you passionate about helping young people reach their full potential? Emerald Teaching is recruiting dedicated Learning Support Assistants to support our partner secondary schools across Greater Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with young people and making a positive impact within the classroom. Whether you have previous school experience or transferable skills from a care or support background, we’d love to hear from you.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

– Provide classroom support to students across a range of subjects.
– Work with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to help them achieve their learning goals.
– Support students with additional learning needs where required.
– Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
– Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
– Work closely with teachers and other school staff to support student progress.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

– Previous experience working with young people in a school, care, youth work, or support setting is desirable.
– A positive, patient, and proactive approach.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
– A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
– An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
